Netball NSW has hit the road again, this time travelling to the Northern Inland region to discuss all things Sport Development for a NetED tour. 

NetEd is a program which provides an opportunity for members based in regional areas to enhance their skills and update their knowledge. The program is designed to meet the specific needs of the region, and effectively service the requirements of players, umpires and coaches.

Starting in Tamworth last Friday 3 May, Netball NSW Coach Development Coordinator Dianne Brown and Umpire & Officials Coordinator Jan Simpson, as well as Regional Coordinator Monique Smith, travelled to five regional towns throughout the week prese

nting courses and spreading the netball love to the community.

Beginning Coaching General Principles

Netball NSW urges all prospective coaches to go to the following link to complete the free on line Beginning Coaching General Principles Course https://www.ausport.gov.au/participating/coaches/education/onlinecoach

This online component is a requirement for accreditation and will reduce your time and costs for the Foundation course. The certificate awarded must be attached to your enrolment form.

UMPIRING

How to become an umpire in six easy steps:

1. 1.             Must be a registered member of Netball NSW.
2. 2.             Purchase a Rule Book from our online shop.
3. 3.             Sit the Section 1 Theory Exam, Netball Australia Online Umpire Exam Centre.
4. 4.             Attend a Level 1 Umpires Course, please check Netball NSW Umpires Calendarfor up and coming courses.
5. 5.             Contact your Umpires Convenor and ask for a mentor/coach on local games for practise and experience.
