19/U NSW TEAM KICKS OFF DAY 2 WITH A WIN OVER WA

The 19/U NSW team emerged victorious, 32-23, following a tough battle with Western Australia at the 2011 National Netball Championships in Logan, QLD today.

WA Courtney Bruce gave her team the early advantage as the GK continued to come out and pick off NSW passes. WA led 7-5 at the first break. NSW WD Gabi Simpson was just one player who epitomised the NSW fight with a terrific performance, pulling in a number of intercepts to help NSW close the gap.

NSW adjusted their game in the second quarter as they started to gather momentum to be facing just a one-goal deficit at halftime, 13-12.

The NSW team continued to build throughout the game, putting together some brilliant passages of play down the middle of the court and set up the win with a dominant third quarter to take an unassailable 25-18 lead into the final quarter.
